Hi Rudie,

The choice of a citation style depends less on what book you’re citing and more on your field of research. If your institution hasn’t told you which style guide to use, consider what style fits best with your area of study. MLA or Chicago notes and bibliography is commonly used in the humanities, APA or Chicago author-date in the (social) sciences.

I’m hoping someone from Scribbr can help me. For background, the book I’m referring to contains a directory of different gemstones for the most part. It also includes the process of selecting, caring for, and using gemstones. The book I’m referring to is ”The Crystal Bible” by Judy Hall. If you could please help me, I would very much appreciate it.

With Gratitude,
Rudie Lucero
