Hi Pim,

Yes, you should follow the normal rules for block quotation when the quote is longer than 40 words, whatever kind of source you’re quoting from and for whatever purpose.

I can’t seem to find how to quote fragments from a podcast if you have used them (transcribed) as unit of analysis and want to quote something in your results section to strengthen your argument. If it’s over 40 words, do you use normal block quotation rules or do you use ” and ” at the end and beginning?

Hi Kelly,

I understand that’s frustrating. We’re working on adding a variety of additional source types to the citation generator, including podcasts, but for now you’ll just have to construct these references manually, following the guidance in the article.

When you search for podcast, you are taken to a page that explains how to write a podcast reference but there is not an ability to go back and type one into the generator. Frustrating and time consuming to say the least. Please just put a selection for podcast in the generator.
