In a case like this, it’s always best to try to find the original source (the book) and quote directly from there. If you can’t access the original, the source you need to include in your Works Cited list is the source you actually used (the website). Then in your in-text citation you can used the abbreviation “qtd. in” for “quoted in” to show who the quote actually comes from: (Alfie Kohn, qtd. in Smith)

I have found quotes and references to the book (The Homework Myth by Alfie Kohn) online and I have found a quote I’m going to use, but I don’t have the book so I don’t know the page number to the quote.

Hi Damian,

For multiple sources with identical authors, list the author’s name(s) in the first Works Cited entry but begin subsequent entries with a series of three hyphens (—) instead.

In terms of the order, you should alphabetize these entries by the title of the chapter.
